आज हम संपूर्ण निष्कलंक गर्भाधान के महोत्सव का उत्सव मनाते हैं, एक ऐसा पर्व जो धन्य कुँवारी मरियम को प्रदान किए गए अद्वितीय वरदान को सम्मानित करता है। मरियम को उनकी गर्भाधान के क्षण से ही मूल पाप से मुक्त रखा गया, ताकि वे ईश्वर की माता बनने के लिए तैयार हो सकें।
लूकस के सुसमाचार 1:28 में, हम स्वर्गदूत गब्रियल के मरियम को कहे गए शब्द सुनते हैं: "जय हो, हे अनुग्रहपूर्ण! प्रभु आपके साथ हैं।" ये शब्द हमें उस दिव्य संदेश की याद दिलाते हैं, जो गब्रियल ने याजक जकर्याह को दिया था, यह घोषणा करते हुए कि योहन बपतिस्ता, अपनी माता के गर्भ से ही पवित्र आत्मा से भरे होंगे (लूका 1:15)। मरियम का निष्कलंक गर्भाधान, मानवता को मुक्त करने की ईश्वर की योजना का प्रमाण है। जैसा कि संत पौलुस इफिसियों 1:4 में लिखते हैं: "ईश्वर ने संसार की सृष्टि से पहले ही हमें मसीह में चुन लिया, ताकि हम उनके सामने पवित्र और निर्दोष बनें।" पवित्र शास्त्र में, हम इस तैयारी को बार-बार देखते हैं: • हव्वा, सभी जीवितों की माता, मरियम की प्रतीक हैं, जो उद्धारकर्ता की माता बनेंगी (उत्पत्ति 3:20)। • परमप्रधान के नियमों को धारण करने के लिए निर्मित वाचा का सन्दूक, मरियम को दर्शाता है, जो नए विधान की सन्दूक हैं (निर्गमन 25:10-22)। • ज्वलंत झाड़ी, जो ईश्वर की अग्नि से प्रज्वलित होते हुए भी भस्म नहीं हुई, मरियम की पवित्रता और ईश्वर की माता के रूप में उनकी भूमिका का प्रतीक है (निर्गमन 3:2-4)।
प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, इस महान पर्व को मनाते हुए, हम मरियम के निष्कलंक गर्भाधान को सम्मानित करें और उनके उद्धारकारी कार्य में उनकी अद्वितीय भूमिका को स्वीकार करें। आइए, हम उनकी पवित्रता और विनम्रता का अनुसरण करने का प्रयास करें, ताकि हम भी पवित्र आत्मा से भर जाएँ और ईश्वर के मोक्ष के यंत्र बन सकें।

My dear friend in Jesus Christ, today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a feast that honours the remarkable privilege granted to the Blessed Virgin Mary. From the moment of her conception, Mother Mary was free from the stain of original sin, a gift that prepared her to be the Mother of God. In Luke’s Gospel 1:28, we hear the angel Gabriel’s words to Mary “Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” These words resound the greeting of the angel to the prophet Zechariah, announcing the birth of John the Baptist that He will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:15).
Mary’s Immaculate Conception is a testament to God’s plan to redeem humanity. As St. Paul writes in Ephesians 1:4, “God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” It is truly God’s preparation for redemption; we see it in the Holy Scripture. Eve, the mother of all the living, foreshadows Mary, the mother of the Redeemer (Genesis 3:20). The Ark of the Covenant, built to hold the Ten Commandments, prefigures Mary, the Ark of the New Covenant (Exodus 25:10-22). The burning bush, unconsumed by the divine fire, symbolizes Mary’s purity and her role as Mother of God (Exodus 3:2-4).
As we celebrate this great feast let us honour Mary’s Immaculate Conception, recognizing Her unique role in our salvation. Come my dear brothers and sisters, let us make an effort to imitate Her purity and humility, that we too may be filled with the Holy Spirit and become instruments of God’s redemption. Amen.
